What will I++ deliver?

Most companies have collected metrology system from several generations and vendors. Software that works on one brand CMM can not be ported to another CMM. Communication between components typically does not communicate well with components from a competitor system.

I++ is a standard communication protocol between Metrology solutions and the measuring hardware. Once the individual controllers have been updated on each CMM, ARM, Tactile Scanning System or Optical Inspection device, your one common Metrology solution will connect to any device.

GD&T Consultants have extensive experience working with the Renishaw REVO® and PH20 product line. Integrating I++ for use with the Renishaw Universal CMM Controller (UCC2). As a retrofitter or CMM OEM the UCC2 provides a direct avenue to retrofitting most new and late model CMMs regardless of manufacturer.

REVO

Renishaw REVO has opened markets to high speed inspection on a CMM through the use of a patented servo driven probe head. Imagine capturing thousands of points a second over large surface area while the CMM is moving in a straight line at a constant speed!

REVO uses synchronized motion and Renscan5™ measurement technology to minimize the dynamic effects of CMM motion at ultra high measurement speeds. This is achieved by letting the REVO head do the fast demanding motion while the CMM moves in a linear slow fashion.

The use of a flexible tip sensing probe system further adds to the systems' accuracy and flexibility. The removable probe system, used in conjunction with a low cost changer, provides added system flexibility.

Renishaw PH20
PH20

Renishaw adds 5-axis control to touch probe systems. This unique tool extends the traditional articulating probe head by breaking the barrier of fixed indexed positions utilizing an infinite servo drive system for rapid elevation and rotary moves. Gone are the days of calibrating fixed articulated positions. The PH20 utilized a Renishaw developed "Inferred Calibration" utility that calibrates not only the stylus size and location, but the mapped position characteristics.

The PH20 does not stop with single touch probe actions, through RecScan5, a new "Head Touches" mode has been developed that allows measuring features with only the drive system within the probe head leaving the CMM stationary eliminating induced inaccuracies of structural movement often part of a CMM.
